Our Story

2022

A Simple Hello

A dating app. Austin, Texas. April. Neither of us knew what was coming.

2025

A Random Tuesday

Ceramics, Beyoncé, and the question that changed everything.

2026

Forever Starts Here

A beach in St. Lucia. Everyone we love. The beginning of the rest.

Souleymane and Brittany

It started the way a lot of great things do — unexpectedly. A dating app. Austin, Texas. April 2022. Neither of them was looking for what they found.

But here’s what Brittany found: a man who never once asked her to be anything other than exactly who she is. Flaws included. All of it, welcome. The kind of love that doesn’t keep score — that just shows up, quietly and consistently, and makes you feel safe in a way you can’t quite explain to anyone who hasn’t felt it.

And here’s what Souleymane found: his steady. The calm inside the noise. Someone who could match him on a dance floor at EDC and sit beside him in comfortable silence the very next morning. They went to Coachella. They went to Disney — Brittany’s first time, a memory she’ll carry forever. They built traditions out of ordinary evenings: ceramic painting at Cordovan, Beyoncé playing, no agenda, nowhere to be.

The proposal happened on one of those Tuesdays. He excused himself — said he needed something from the car. She didn’t think twice. He came back, got down on one knee, and asked her to stay forever. Paint still on her fingers, Beyoncé still playing. She said yes before he finished the sentence.

In 2025 they took a cruise through the Virgin Islands. St. Lucia wasn’t on the route, but it was already on their minds. Somewhere between the warm water and the slow Caribbean mornings, they made the kind of decision that only makes sense when you say it out loud: why wait? Why not get married there?

So here we are. November 28, 2026. Royalton Saint Lucia. Forty of the people they love most, gathered in paradise to witness the beginning of the rest. This weekend is for all of you as much as it is for them — a Thanksgiving worth remembering, a celebration worth traveling for, and a love story worth showing up for.

We cannot wait to have you there.

Questions

Frequently Asked

What is the dress code?

Tropical formal — think linen, light fabrics, flowing dresses. Colors welcome. The ceremony and reception are on the beach, so leave the stilettos at home. Elegant and coastal is the vibe.

When should I book my room?

As soon as possible. Late November is peak season in St. Lucia and rooms book quickly. When booking, simply mention the Burns and Souleymane Wedding so the resort can connect your reservation to our celebration.

Which airport should I fly into?

Hewanorra International (UVF) in the south receives most direct US flights—it’s about 90 minutes from the resort. George F.L. Charles Airport (SLU) is only 20 minutes away but primarily serves regional Caribbean routes.

Is the resort all-inclusive?

Yes. The Royalton Saint Lucia is a full all-inclusive resort. Once you check in, food, drinks, and most activities are covered. Your biggest decision will be which restaurant to choose for dinner.

Can I bring children?

Children are warmly welcome at both the ceremony and reception — we want the whole family there. If you are bringing little ones, please note that the Royalton Saint Lucia is a two-side resort. Children may only stay on the Royalton side of the property — the Hideaway side is adults only. When booking your room, make sure you are reserving on the Royalton side so your family is all set from arrival to send-off.

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Please be seated by 3:45 PM. The ceremony begins promptly at 4:00 PM on the beach. You won’t want to miss the walk down the aisle — or the view.

What is the weather like in late November?

Beautiful. St. Lucia in late November is warm (mid-80s), breezy, and typically sunny. It’s the start of the dry season, making it one of the best times of year to visit. Pack sunscreen.

I have more questions — who do I contact?

Reach out to us directly anytime. We’re happy to help with anything from flight recommendations to what to pack. This is a trip—we want everyone to enjoy every moment of it.

Is there a wedding hashtag?

Yes! Use #BurnsToBeAKaba on all your photos throughout the weekend — from the all-white party Friday night to the farewell brunch Sunday morning. We want to see every moment through your eyes.
